If you speak Spanish, say it on the site.

If you or someone on your team speaks Spanish, or another language your customers use, put it on your site. It's one line, and it can decide who they call.

  • languages
  • Spanish
  • phone calls
  • local customers
  • small business websites

A lot of people would rather explain a broken AC or a leaking roof in the language they grew up speaking. Especially when it's a stressful problem, or when it's their mom or grandpa making the call.

If you speak Spanish, or someone on your team does, that's a real reason to pick you. But only if they know before they call.

Put it near the phone number

Don't bury it on the About page. Put it right where people decide to reach out:

  • "Se habla español."
  • "We speak English and Spanish. Call or text."
  • "For Spanish, ask for our office manager."

One line is enough. If only one person on your crew speaks it, say who, so the caller knows who to ask for.

It's not only Spanish

Around Fresno and Clovis you'll hear Spanish, Hmong, Punjabi, Armenian, and more. If you or your team speak any of them, say so the same way. The person searching for help in that language is often the one who has the hardest time finding it.

Be honest about how much

If you're fluent, say so. If you can get by but the paperwork is in English, that's okay too. "Some Spanish spoken" is better than promising a full Spanish experience you can't deliver. People appreciate knowing what to expect.

A few other spots to mention it

  • Your Google Business listing. Put it in the description, since people often check there first.
  • Your contact form. A simple "Preferred language" choice helps you route the call.
  • Your quote or invoice, if you can send one in both languages.

You don't need to translate the whole site to start. Saying you speak it already does most of the work.

Keep it current

If the person who spoke Spanish leaves, take the line down or change it. A customer who calls expecting Spanish and doesn't get it feels let down before you've done anything.

What should the site be bringing in?

New business, or one whose website went quiet. Say what you do, the towns you cover, and drop the link if you have one. I write back from Clovis, usually within a day. The first note is about your jobs, not a list of packages.
