If you offer financing, say it before the quote.

A new roof or AC unit is a big number. If you offer payment plans, people need to know that before they decide they can't afford to call.

The AC quit in July. Or the roof leaked through the ceiling in the first big rain. Now someone is staring at a job that costs more than they have sitting in the bank.

A lot of those people never call. They figure the number will be too big, so they put it off, patch it, or call whoever they heard offers payments.

If you offer financing and your site doesn't say so, you lose some of those calls before you ever get a chance to quote.

Say it plainly, and say it early

One line is enough to start:

"Financing available on jobs over $X."

"We offer payment plans on new installs. Ask when you book."

Use your real minimum, and the real kind of job it covers. If it's only for replacements and not repairs, say that.

Put it where the money question comes up

People think about cost in a few places. Put the line there:

  • On the service pages for your biggest jobs
  • Near your quote or booking button
  • On your pricing page, if you have one

Don't save it for a footer logo or a banner nobody reads. A plain sentence next to the button does more.

Say how it works, in a few words

People want to know what they're signing up for. Answer the easy questions:

  • Is it through you, or through a lender?
  • Do they apply before the job, or at the estimate?
  • Is there a quick check, or a longer application?

If you use a lender, use the wording they give you for rates and terms. Don't guess at numbers on your own site. "Ask us for current terms" is fine.

If you don't offer it, that's fine too

Not every business needs financing. But if people ask about it a lot, a short line saves you the back-and-forth: "We don't offer financing, but we can break big jobs into phases." Only say that if it's true.

Check your own site today

Open your site on your phone. Pretend your water heater just died and you have $400 in checking. Can you tell in ten seconds whether this company will work with you on payment?

If not, add one sentence where they'll see it.

If you want a site that answers the money question before it scares people off, talk with Hexacomb. You run the business. We take care of your website.

What should the site be bringing in?

New business, or one whose website went quiet. Say what you do, the towns you cover, and drop the link if you have one. I write back from Clovis, usually within a day. The first note is about your jobs, not a list of packages.
